Oil & Gas
Sulphur Granular
Granulated sulphur for sulphuric acid, fertilisers and industry.
Overview
Sulphur is recovered in large volumes as a by-product of natural gas processing and oil refining, which makes the Middle East, Central Asia and North America its main sources. It is traded mostly as granules, small hard pellets that are easy to store, handle and ship in bulk without the dust of powdered or crushed material.
Most of the sulphur traded worldwide is burned to make sulphuric acid, the base of phosphate fertilisers and an essential reagent in metal leaching and chemical industries. Contracts specify purity, moisture, ash and acidity, the granule size and the packing, and the cargo is inspected at loading for quality and quantity.
